Digital Fluency and Beginnings – Week 1

Reflection Overview

In our first week the idea of digital domains and footprints were introduced. Although I had already established my domain during the previous semester, I decided to do some housekeeping on some of the shortcomings of my website. The tag “Weekly Summary” will house all future blog posts for this class.

Digital Manifesto

In similar fashion to Creative Coding last semester, I found that it would only be appropriate to begin this class with my hopes for personal progress in this class. When dealing with digital studies classes, they matter to the extent of which one puts in effort. Although I tend to procrastinate sometimes, I want to strive to push my boundaries further than last semester. Weekly Summaries will act as my incentive to explore, innovate, and write about my creative endeavors. Because my domain did not exist prior to Fall 2021, I hope to convert my projects from Intro. to Digital Studies into blog posts, specifically Iterative Game Development and Color Visualization in Studio Ghibli Films. Given this is the capstone course for the Communications and Digital Studies major, I want to push myself to add as many quality projects as possible to my portfolio. Furthermore, I wish to further improve upon my domain, finally adding resume along with organizational improvements, other informative pages, and general ease of use tweaks for more than just web. I am beyond excited to experiment with all that Applied Digital Studies has to offer!
